Below, he explains his family's participation in marathon events, with his baby boy surely being the youngest runner in the country! "Myself, my partner, Rejieli and our 9 month old son, Eli recently completed the Cardiff Half Marathon. It was our first half marathon together (we had previously run 5k and 10k races) and we thoroughly enjoyed the course. The weather was fantastic and there was excellent support from the crowd and runners. Both Rejieli and I planned to run the race last year but, since entering in early 2008, I broke my leg and Rejieli found out she was pregnant, so neither of us could run. "Our target for the Cardiff Half Marathon was around 3 hours and we managed to cross the line with a chip time of 3 hours 7 minutes, a few minutes ahead of a guy running (loose term) in a full suit of armour! (He broke the world record.) Since Eli was born in February, he has run nearly one race a month and already has a nice collection of medals! We have regular training runs together and get some funny looks running along with the pram. Eli loves it and inspires us when things get difficult. We try and do as many events together as a family and have named our team 'Team Awesome' ". It's great to see that sport and fitness is already very much a part of Eli's life. Congratulations to Team AWESOME, and good luck for all future events!
